Helen ventured into her perfume sales business last year during the covid-19 lockdown. Staying idle has never been a choice for Helen, therefore she started her business to cater for herself and her family.

Helen affirms that one can make money from her business. And apart from having to market the product, the business is stress-free. She started her business with the sum of 20,000 Naira. Her high point so far has been her ability to pay semester school fees through her business. however, having limited customers does not allow her business to move at a rapid rate and that has been her low point.

Although faced with many challenges, Helen has never thought of giving up. Furthermore, Helen’s business has not grown to the point of engaging people, she works alone as she simply orders the products and sells them to customers. She aspires to become a manufacturer of her perfume in due time. Moreover, her business is not yet registered with the corporate affairs commission.

Helen wants policymakers to create a platform where businesses can be reached and goods are easily accessed by the general public.

Consistency is the key to business growth. Therefore, Helen advises entrepreneurs to be consistent. According to her “It about consistency and the grace of God, it’s never a smooth journey, I remember going through 3 months without making any sales, I was advised to drop the idea and the business but I saw light at the end. If you’ve got a skill or you are opportune to get one, please, grab it with a full grip, it pays to be an entrepreneur and independent.”
